North Padre Island February 2014

We were still several weeks from our next trip to Hawaii, so we decided we needed some time on a beach.  We love beaches, and though Hawaii is our favorite place for beaches occasionally we visit other beaches to help us make it until we get back to Hawaii.  We first thought about Pensacola, but that didn't work out because we couldn't get there.  We ended up on North Padre Island.  Neither of us  had ever been there, so we didn't have high expectations.  The weather was forecast to be cloudy and cool.  However, we really enjoyed the beach.  We walked for a long time--pretty much having the beach to ourselves.  North Padre is not busy and we thought it was very pretty. It was a great trip!  I think we will make it until we go to Hawaii now!!

The absolute, most fun thing was driving on the beach.  We were in a rental car--the sand was packed hard.  This was a blast!!
